接着上一集，春暖唐僧师徒人又继续上路了。然而这日唐僧（江华 饰）发了一个噩梦，春暖梦中故乡长安城经历了一场浩劫，一只巨猴正在大肆破坏，而为了保护义兄唐太宗，唐僧自己亦惨死！噩梦惊醒的唐僧知道自己是金禅子转世，这绝非一个简单的梦，而是上天给他的预示。于是，唐僧决定叫悟空（陈浩民 饰）、八戒（黎耀祥 饰）和沙僧（麦长青 饰）兵分三路赶回长安，阻止这场绝世浩劫。随后，唐僧还是不放心，决定不可为而为之，自己亲自步行走回长安城，阻止这场劫难。另一方面，长安城内却是另一番景象。唐太宗好大喜功，以为那只大猩猩是一只瑞兽，竟派人前往捉拿，要在庆典上展出。唐僧梦中的那场劫难正在慢慢逼近。
