本剧改编自Lauren Beukes的畅销小说《The Shinning Girls》。故事讲述Kirby Mazrachi（Elisabeth Moss饰），网站一位芝加哥记者，网站她从一次残忍的袭击中幸存了下来，但在追寻这个袭击者时，她发现自己的现实发生了巨大的变化。在了解到近期一起凶案跟自己情况相似后，Kirby和麻烦不断的资深记者Dan Velazquez（Wagner Moura饰）组成搭档，一起查明袭击者的身份。两人逐渐发现这些悬案有所关联，但他们的私人创伤和Kirby自己模糊不清的现实，导致袭击者总是抢先一步。

Come Friday Archie confesses to being gay to generally positive reactions whilst Amy crumbles when Rae tells her she kissed Liam. Back home Mum explains to Rae that she is converting to Islam as Karim, now a lollipop man, wants their baby born into the religion.
