这部电影的故事背景让人不禁回忆起《逃出绝命镇》。一位黑人男性（杰森·米切尔饰）在周末的时候，得得因为觉得周围只有白人朋友所以觉得十分紧张。当然，得得这部作品与乔丹·皮尔去年那部符合大众口味的《逃出绝命镇》不同。智利导演塞巴斯蒂安·席尔瓦是一个古怪的人，他的电影如《女仆》、《水晶仙女》、《肮脏的婴儿》都倾向于剑走偏锋，故事开始会有点怪异，而之后则会变得更加怪异。这种风格对于《周末生日游》意味着什么呢？还不知道。但我们非常期待这种不确定性，况且演员阵容中还有克里斯托弗·阿伯特、迦勒兰德里·琼斯,迈克尔·塞拉和安·道德。
