小偷狗仔因打荷包被追捕，小嶋线播认识了警察丘国柱(吕良伟)并结成莫逆。名盗老如风(鲍方)，小嶋线播做案手法利落，警局总监丘镇岳(朱铁和)屡次拘捕他，却因证据不足让他逍遥法外；加上两人皆钟情于四姨(白茵)，令两人更如水火。老若翩(赵雅芝)老如风养女，与国柱要好，但狗仔同时亦钟情于她。后来若翩与国柱合力撮合狗仔与翁静怡(林绮雯)情缘。国柱在无意中查出翁向明(刘兆铭)与二十年前一劫案有关，于是搜罗罪证，要将向明绳之于法，与向明展开一场追逐战。国柱与若翩的婚事遭双方家长反对，而狗仔与静怡亦要面临分手。
