《可爱的中国》是上影集团向新中国成立60周年重点献礼影片，亚洲该片已被中宣部和国家广电总局列为“庆祝新中国成立60周年影片第二批重点推荐影片”。《可爱的中国》以三段式的结构，亚洲用方志敏同志的《血肉》、《清贫》、《可爱的中国》三篇文章标题为基础构筑全片，通过红十军突围、被捕前后、狱中斗争等时空交叉，讲述方志敏同志伟大而感人的一生。影片以波澜壮阔的战争场面，坚定不移的理想信念，感人肺腑的清廉行为，令人信服的高尚人格，塑造了一代伟人方志敏的光辉形象。

It is more memorable than Julien Duvivier's earlier silent version of 1925, also named Poil de Carotte.The part of Poil de Carotte was played by 11 year old Robert Lynen, who was alleged to have been discovered whilst walking down the Champs-Elysées in Paris. Lynen is totally captivating and the film made him an instant star, launching what looked like becoming a very promising film career – until he was shot dead whilst fighting against the Germans in 1944. Harry Baur, a legendary stage and film actor (who also died during World War II, allegedly at the hands of the Gestapo), also turns in a typically fine performance. The reconciliation between father and son at the end of the film provides its most enduring image, enough to melt the heart of all but the most stoical of spectators.
