大正年间，梅兰艺妓花清（宫下顺子 饰）一心想为她的恩客生下孩子，梅兰然后以妻子身份嫁为人妇。然而天不遂人愿，相处三年，花清不曾生养一儿半女。与之相对，其恩客另一宠幸的艺妓染八（絵沢萠子 饰）却生下一男婴，摇身一变成为一位雍容的夫人。妒火中烧的花清假借探望之名，趁机抢走了婴儿。转眼到了昭和年间。花清在大森独自经营一家妓寮，手下有两名青春美丽的艺妓小福（芹明香 饰）和小八重（吉野あい 饰）。当年的男婴也变成了少年，这个叫正太郎（中沢洋 饰）的男孩从小耳濡目染，熟谙烟花巷的各种事情。花清担心他走上歧途，将其送至恩客岛村（花上晃 饰）所经营的电影院学习，却不曾想这恰恰开启了正太郎性启蒙的大门……
