拥有绘画天赋的阿明（王合喜）为令相爱多年的女友美仪过上优渥的生活，佐倉放弃成为艺术家转做挣钱较多的职员，佐倉他没想到的是，自己为梦想的未来辛苦打拼时，美仪竟背着他结识了比他有钱的男人，两人分手。而感情受挫更令他工作严重失误失掉工作。为了有新的开始，阿明换了居住环境，结识房东小蕾（周海媚），后又成为她的同事，而工作中他的绘画才能也因偶然机会被老板赏识。朝夕相处中，阿明与小蕾生出感情，小蕾的哥哥（罗家英）也极力撮合两人携手同行。但这时美仪杀来回马枪。

However, on Christmas Eve, he is visited by the doomed ghost of his former partner Jacob Marley that tells him that three spirits would visit him that night. The first one, the spirit of Christmas Past, recalls his miserable youth when he lost his only love due to his greed; the spirit of Christmas Present shows him the poor situation of Bob's family and how joyful life may be; and the spirit of Christmas Future shows his fate. Scrooge finds that life is good and time is too short and suddenly you are not there anymore, changing his behavior toward Christmas, Bob, his nephew and people in general.
