回复 :莫昌诚(金沛辰饰)和沈柏翘(吴永金饰)，怀着亢奋的心情到警署报到。然而，对警察的工作充满热诚的诚，却被安排与叶坤(梁家仁饰)一起搭档，令诚多少有些泄气。做事作风别树一格的重案组谷道政(尹天照饰)因屡破奇案而在警区内声名远播。这天，正在搜集情报的政碰到坤和初来报到的诚，在诚的眼中，政只是个在街上蹓跶的慵懒便衣，根本不像什么干探，令他对政留下坏印象。酒楼张欣欣(陈法蓉饰)与持双程证来港的亲妹张佩佩(李华饰)及大班为争取居港权的人士一同集结在花园示威抗议，诚与坤接报派驻现场维持秩序。激进的示威者与警员遂发生冲突，混乱间，坤错手开枪，将一名示威者击毙。民选独立议员霍天良(谢君豪饰)对此事十分关注，出面要求政府就事件作出公平的处理。坤因此事而要停职接受项目小组的调查，然而，众示威者的口供均对坤极其不利，而唯一的目击者佩却又因怕事而三缄其口。政为帮坤查出真相而私下调查，却被诚发现，二人因而再起冲突，关系一度恶化……
