犴达罕是大兴安岭森林里体态最大的动物，家住威武，家住敏感，拥有尊严。近年生态的破坏，偷猎者的增多，犴达罕也更稀少。 而这不是一部关于犴的片子。 具有犴一样孤独气质的鄂温克猎人维加在禁猎后失落悲伤，经常酒后用诗和画怀念逝去的狩猎时代。春天来了，维加和伙伴进入原始森林，寻找犴达罕的足迹。 城市里教书的夏老师爱慕维加的才华，维加的生活发生了变化……
