电影版将延续电视剧剧情，不安阐述苏家婆婆彩香（钟欣凌饰）在摆脱传统家庭观念的束缚之后，不安果断展开全新的人生，火寮一哥（许杰辉饰）也为了追求彩香使出浑身解术，但彩香却将重心放在“追星”上，苏家子女们纷纷傻眼，自己的妈妈竟然抛家弃子去跟风追星，还追星追到把明星搞丢而卷入这起明星失踪案，连警察都来关切，苏家再次受到全台的关注议论。备受关注的小鸥（黄姵嘉饰）和发贵（张书伟饰）“鸥贵CP”，两人的恋情也将在电影版中历经波折，是否有机会能往下发展？秉仁（杨铭威饰）在病愈后和大美（林筳谕饰）的感情进度也可在电影版中一探究竟。《我的婆婆怎么把OO搞丢了》预计将于2023年农历新年档期上映。
