中国首部军旅情景喜剧。空军某基层连队的炊事班有这样几个人：柜魔经常说要冷静处理班里发生的大小事务却总也处理不好的班长胖洪（洪剑涛）、柜魔爱揪别人小辫子爱打小报告一心想做班长的副班长老高（范明）、热情能干但容易冲动性急的采购员大周（周小斌）、个子不高鬼点子不少爱唱歌爱闯祸的河南小伙小毛（毛孩）、馒头蒸得一流没事喜欢写点文章的帅胡（沙溢）、和胖洪一样很肥爱吃爱喝有时会吹点小牛的小姜（姜超）。这六个人与连长及其它班的战士一起，围绕小小的炊事班发生了一连串与吃有关无关的妙趣横生的故事。
