初出茅庐的保险代办员鲁伯特·哈默被派到外省乡村开展业务，免费他必须在趾高气扬的上司舒尔茨面前证明自己的能力。鲁伯特不想示弱，免费他至少要在漂亮的服务生莱娜面前大显身手。然而这里的居民似乎对保险没多大兴趣，唯独农民奥莉维娅想为父亲买一份人寿保险，这使鲁伯特喜出望外。然而，奥莉维娅的动机并不纯粹，不知不觉间，鲁伯特已陷入一个惊天阴谋中……（小易甫字幕组）

回复 :好莱坞在二次世界大战期间拍摄的最佳抗战宣传片之一。导演霍华德真实地拍摄了美国空军B-17轰炸机 “玛丽安”号及有关的轰炸药小组成员的故事，全片的“政治意识”十分鲜明，但并不影响故事的推展。编剧达德利撰写的对白精简有力，不少场面的安排反映出他对空军的敬意，战斗动作场面高精尖紧凑刺激。
