寅次郎（渥美清饰）鸟倦归巢，亚洲返回柴又老家，亚洲却发现家里来了个不速之客──大学教授冈仓（米仓齐加年饰）。寅正怒著离家之际，童年知己千代（八千草薰饰）竟突然到访。两人由儿时趣事谈起，感情突飞猛进，但原来同时间，冈仓教授亦对千代暗生情愫。初次面临三角恋危机的寅，究竟如何进退？
