以下转摘自：女郎http://bc.cinema.com.hk/adhoc/alain-web/m9.html吳宇森《縱橫四海》的原型。阿倫狄龍今趟「改邪歸正」，女郎首次飾演執法者警探高文，為了搗破毒品交易，查案至海邊一個寧靜小鎮，邂逅上美豔的嘉菲(嘉芙蓮丹露)。可惜俊男美女的故事並不是快樂的保證，因為美人兒原來是販賣頭子兼老友的情婦。兩位好友一黑一白，愛上同一個女人，面對友情和愛情，該如何抉擇？梅維爾的簡約主義在本片盡情發揮，精要的對白、短促的場景、極少量的配樂，甚至連阿倫狄龍的演出也比其他電影更為內歛。開首一場械劫案，冷冽得來逼力甚強，借風借雨，營造氣氛，場面調度之精緻，絕非一般的類型片所及。梅維爾在影片拍攝期間已經抱恙，本片也成為導演的最終回。
