因为所在的波路中学倒闭，日韩新学期一开始，日韩先岛光（花江夏树 配音）和青梅竹马向井户爱花（花泽香菜 配音）以及好友比良平千咲（茅野爱衣 配音）、伊佐木要（逢坂良太 配音）转校至位于陆地的美滨中学继续学业。先岛和朋友们是生活在海底的海之民，传说很久以前人类全部始于大海，大有一部分人迷恋陆地的生活，而放弃了神赐予的“胞衣”。千百年来，陆之民和海之民在摩擦中共存，他们之间有矛盾，有误会，也有憧憬和向往。在新的学校，先岛和爱花结识了生活在海边的少年木原纺（石川界人 饰）。来自不同的种族，少男少女别样的青春故事就此上演……
