湾仔区巡警陈俊杰（陈奕迅）因为七年来每日所做都是极有规律毫无变化的工作，日韩渐渐对警察一职失去激情，日韩上面派来小师妹廖得男（容祖儿）与他一起巡逻时，眼见对方满腔热情事事认真，他冷眼旁观之余，会不时地冷嘲热讽，遇到疯子王成（吴镇宇）时，陈俊杰也只当他为精神病人指给廖得男看。19岁的天真少女Nicole和Diet在一宗巴士乘客露械案中认识陈俊杰后，开始对其崇拜，陈俊杰也从两人身上感受到温暖。不久，湾仔区出现一名残暴强奸犯，不少单身女性都被其奸杀，Diet也没能幸免。此事促使陈俊杰从麻木中惊醒，他开始发疯似地缉拿凶犯。

The uncontrollable wind takes the balloon to a mysterious island in the South Pacific in the area of New Zealand. Captain Harding self-proclaims the leader of the group and they look for food; sooner they discover that they are stranded in an island. Further, they are attacked by a giant crab that becomes their first meal. Along the days, they build a shelter and finds that the island is inhabited by giant animals. A couple of days later, they find two castaways on the beach, the aristocratic Lady Mary Fairchild and her sexy niece Elena. Later they find a trunk with weapons and instruments like sextant and shelter with a journal of a man left alone in the island by pirates. When the pirate vessel arrives in the island, they are helped by Captain Nemo of the Nautilus, a submarine that had supposedly sunk in the coast of Mexico eight years ago.
