聽不見的世界只有寂靜無聲嗎？《明晴學園的寂樂青春》記錄的明晴學園位於東京品川區、全民創立於2008年，全民崇尚教育的多元化，不強迫學童小小年紀就去融入所謂的「主流社會」，而是鼓勵他們「聽不見並不會低人一等，只是體驗一個不同的世界」，所以在這邊，不走傳統啟聰學校以口語和讀唇教學的路線，而是以手語來教學。在片中，幼稚園的小女生，透過手語表達她想要的各種動物貼紙。在老師的理解下，她拿到了她想要的貼紙，她從中學會做選擇、學會表達需求，也感受到被老師理解；小四學生們透過手語啟發對大自然的讚賞，用手語歌詠春天的美好感受，小手飛舞加上豐沛表情，也成了一行行美麗的詩；小六的學生，透過手語設計寫信活動，表達對畢業班導師的感謝，讓老師忍不住感動落淚；國中女生則在午餐時，調皮地討論要給老師一個小小的惡作劇。
