《沙漠中的最后时日》讲述了由伊万·麦克格雷格饰演的耶稣在沙漠中斋戒40天，视频视频遭到恶魔蛊惑后，视频视频重新找回人性的故事，影片并非源自《圣经》，而是影片导演兼编剧罗德里格·加西亚想象出来的故事。值得一提的是，罗德里格·加西亚是已故文坛巨匠，《百年孤独》作者加西亚·马尔克斯的儿子，曾执导过口碑不俗的影片《雌雄莫辩》。
