回复 :乡下车夫仪三郎（田村高广 饰）的妻子阿石（吉行和子 饰）勤劳善良，仪三郎不在家时，村里终日游手好闲的浪荡子丰次（藤龙也 饰）屡次向她献殷勤，她都不为所动，但是，她终没抵挡住丰次年青强健的身体的诱惑，两人更为了长相厮守，于某个暴风雪的夜晚勒死了仪三郎，并把他的尸体投入枯井。丰次出于罪恶感，每天 会把落叶倒入枯井。三年之后，村里人议论仪三郎的鬼魂出现，阿石也开始受到仪三郎鬼魂的骚扰，逐渐无法承受心理上的重压，而为了打消村里人的怀疑，丰次再次杀人。当丰次和阿石冒险进入枯井想将仪三郎的遗骨转移时，却与他的鬼魂不期而遇。

Elena is not a good victim, and doesn’t show signs of having been a selfless mother. She is vulnerable, but also overcome by rage and sorrow, and that stubbornness seems to render her invincible, against all odds. But investigating the reasons for her daughter’s death soon becomes a trip through memory, and, as we’ve known since the time of Greek tragedies, every investigation is, deep down, an investigation about oneself. Elena Knows submerges us in the physical and mental experience of its protagonist and, at the same time, invites us to ask ourselves uncomfortable questions about aging, the complexity of mother-daughter bonds and the weight of those mandates women drag the same way Elena drags her feet.
